The Great Wave of Kanagawa is a woodblock print by Japanese ukiyo-e artist Hokusai, created in late 1831 during the Edo period of Japanese history. 'The Great Wave' has become one of the most famous works of art in the world—and debatably the most iconic work of Japanese art. A symbolic image of an important change happening to the Japanese society, a change which brings the presence of the foreign influences coming from the uncertainty of the sea and opposed to the firmness and stillness of Mount Fuji, the established symbol for the soul of Japan.

No experience is needed; our host will provide small and easy steps to create your very own masterpiece! You’ll leave with a signature painting to hang in your home.
